Interior Design Project Manager

The Workroom is a local Wichita leader in interior design and custom sewing services for business and residential clients throughout the state of Kansas. Offering a broad range of exclusive made-to-order solutions for window treatments, beddings, upholstery and more. The Workroom also carries a selection of home furnishings and accessories, ranging from custom-made furniture to fine art. The retail shop features products made by over 100 Wichita area artists, unique vintage finds, artisan gifts and accessories you won't find anywhere else. Our goal is to offer unmatched service and quality, in an environment that offers inspiration, education and good vibes.

Under the direction of the Lead Interior Designer, your role will be to oversee The Workroom orders in the interior design and custom sewing department (or division), from initial project meetings to project management and customer service.

Responsibilities 



Sewing Workroom Management

  • Schedule and lead one-on-one appointments with clients

  • Create, follow up and maintain written orders with corresponding PO’s, payments, yardage needed, finished measurements and seamstress communication to ensure accurate fabrication

  • Oversee workflow board to maintain schedule efficiency and deadlines, quality control

  • Maintain and organize work room, design room and samples

Interior Design Projects

  • Lead window, paint and design consultations: measure, swatch, design and present solutions

  • Manage all design projects including PO’s, sub-contractor employment, timelines, client communication and payments

Marketing

  • Create original content for the blog, social media, & newsletter to promote The Workroom’s interior design and custom sewing services

  • Identify, initiate contact, recruit and retain industry businesses and design clientele

  • Participate as an active team member of The Workroom as needed including, but not limited to retail sales, set-up and work events, product receiving and staging

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in interior design or related field (include portfolio featuring samples and design work)

  • Strong organization and project management skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter with detailed follow through

  • Collaborative by nature but also able to work independently

  • Excellent verbal and written skills with a focus on Customer Service

  • Demonstrate experience with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Awareness/usage of current trends, pop culture and social media

Additional Job Requirements

  • Full-time: Monday-Friday from 9:30am – 5pm

  • Must own a reliable vehicle as travel to appointments required

  • Occasional lifting and moving of furniture needed

Salary: $14.00 /hour
