The Workroom

Navigating through COVID-19

The Workroom is committed to caring for the health and well-being of our artists and customers and following recommendations of the local health officials and government leaders. Below are the requirements of The Workroom and actions being taken in preparation for COVID-19.

At Our Store
The Workroom will continue to make proactive decisions that support our community and look out for the best interest of our customers and artists.

  • Enhanced cleaning measures: The Workroom continues to observe cleaning and sanitizing protocols that meet or exceed public health guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

  • Additional precautions: All staff is required to wear facial coverings during their shifts and continue to frequently wash their hands. They also have the option to wear gloves.

  • Safety Protocols: We respectfully require customers follow social distancing and safety protocols recommended by public health officials, including wearing a facial covering when visiting our stores. It is our responsibility to protect our employees and comply with local public health mandates. We have the right and responsibility to refuse service to customers who are not wearing facial coverings.

  • Register and Payment: A divider has been added to help customers to stand 6-feet apart at the register. Credit card machines have been set facing the customers so there is limited contact with the staff.

  • Online Shopping: Customers have the option to make place an order online for store pick-up, where a staff member will bring out your goods directly to you. Parking spaces are marked at the front of the store.

  • Store Closures: We believe it is our responsibility to close The Workroom when/if any of our staff members come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. In such case, we will require all employees get tested before returning to to their regular work shifts.

  • Retail Partners: Some of our vendors/furniture makers have been working remotely and therefore have a backorder of inventory, we appreciate your patience during this time.

  • Fighting Hunger: With the global coronavirus pandemic causing record unemployment and closing the local school meal program. The Workroom partnered with Birney's Snack Shop to provide 2,790 sack lunches to anyone in need from March 25th through May 1st.  With help and support from our local community, this was only possible because of the many many donations and support of this incredible community. Special thanks to Prairie Urban, Nitro Joes Brewing, Pump House, Wesley Medical OR team, Leon Modeder & Associates, ICT Together and so many more!! We love you, Wichita.
